Knowledge management is a concept I would imagine to have different meanings depending on the context. In the informal space or local indigenous community, traditional knowledge seems to be left in the hands of elders. Knowledge management within the formal space like schools, libraries and digital archives seem to be keen on sustainability and management of knowledge. The implication for sustainability is what I find very interesting. The question of development is still a matter of debate when we consider indigenous communities and their idea of development or sustainability. For sustainable development within the context of knowledge management to be attained, there is the need for inclusivity of indigenous knowledge community – a situation where all hands needs to be on deck. The youth must also prioritize indigenous knowledge preservation and management before it is too late.
