Our combined 60 years of experience in knowledge sharing and collaboration have demonstrated that our partners worldwide are more than willing to participate in processes that help us move forward in our shared work on sustainability towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
But we know there are disruptive forces: Aside from powerful interests working against collective action, there are too many events on offer, too much information flowing, and too many emails in our inboxes. The era of hypercommunication seems to be overwhelming people in their professional and personal lives.
These conditions give us, Knowledge Management professionals, opportunities to design and enable processes and products that respond to people’s needs: their time, their mind-space, and their journeys. Only by adopting this human-centred approach can we tackle this challenge strategically. We are not talking about ‘dumbing down complexity’ but about tackling complexity strategically with minimalism, simplicity, and clarity.
At the end of the day, positive change will happen when a critical mass of diverse people co-create solutions based on common goals.
